Alpha status

0.1.0-alpha.1 — unreleased development alpha. GDE is being evaluated as a native Windows workspace for game design and development.

  • Design, Work and Project navigation over ordinary project files.
  • Markdown pages, properties, collections and linked knowledge views.
  • Spatial plans, canvas, image markup and local media observations.
  • Defined numerical experiments and external narrative-tool handoff.
  • GitHub issue workflows, Codex conversations and implementation Run presentation.
  • Local Git actions, project creation/adoption, Requirements and engine bindings.

The manual describes the implemented paths and their limits. Screenshots show the actual application with curated example material. Populated example Work is simulated; concept art is sample design content.

There is no public download or Microsoft Store release linked from this site. The manual is for understanding the product and using an evaluation build already provided to you.

The current Windows distribution target is x64 Windows 11 24H2 or later, while that Windows version remains serviced. Document rendering uses the Evergreen WebView2 Runtime. Engine editors, GitHub and Codex connections have their own prerequisites and permissions.

Compilation and automated checks do not establish physical input, accessibility, visual or gameplay acceptance. Connected engine/provider workflows and individual platform builds need their own verification in the environment where they will be used.

This site does not claim Store certification, connected-engine certification, completed gameplay testing or a stable public file-format/API contract. Keep normal source control and backups while evaluating an unreleased tool.

There is no invented release history or future delivery schedule here. Changes to the implemented product will be reflected in the relevant manual pages.
